As an avid fan of Madeline Miller's writing - I have delighted in illustrating scenes inspired by her stories of Greek gods, goddesses and heroes. Her ability to paint vivid imagery through words is a ceaseless fountain of lore, emotion and scenery to drink from.

This is a personal project inspired by Miller's novel Circe - a solitary but enchanting view of the sea from the witch Circe's island of Aeaea. The scene is meant to depict mystery, melancholy loneliness, and dramatic wonder.
